Where to Watch My Little Pony?

Whether you’ve been around the fandom for years or maybe you’re not even sure if you’re a part of it at all, knowing how to view our beloved colorful cartoon is imperative for any fan or potential-fan.

As of this writing My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is still airing and is showing no signs of stopping any time soon. It’s widely available both on TV and common digital platforms. Of course, not everyone has TV or lives in a country where the show is available.

Let’s take a look at all of the best places to watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic… below!

1. Discovery Family

If you’re in the United States and have Discovery Family available as part of your television package, you’re at the forefront for viewing new episodes as well as re-runs!

You can find Discovery Family’s channel finder here.

Unfortunately many would agree TV is kind of an old fashioned medium. You have to make time to fit a network’s schedule with your own, and viewing options may be limited especially if you don’t have a specific cable subscription.

Be sure to check your local television schedule; there are many networks which air My Little Pony outside of the USA.

2. Netflix

As of this writing, Netflix has most of the show with plans to add the rest of the most recent season soon. Netflix is always cycling shows so it’s very possible that My Little Pony is no longer on there, but If you’re subscribed to Netflix it might just be your best option for viewing pony!

If you have Netflix and they have the show available in your country you can watch it on-demand here.

3. Google Play, Amazon Video, and iTunes

We’ll combine these three because they’re pretty similar. They all have restrictions that will limit how and where you can view the episodes, and watching a large number episodes will quickly cost you hundreds of dollars. Probably not the best option for super-bronies but if you just want to check out a few select episodes any of these will suffice.

iTunes offers the best quality, but costs the most and uses proprietary software. Google Play and Amazon are similar in cost and quality and offer streaming on-demand. It really all comes down to personal preference with these three.

Unfortunately, all of the options mentioned so far have strict restrictions for international viewers and make sacrifices of convenience to support their DRM requirements.

4. File sharing

There is currently no legitimate way to acquire DRM-free My Little Pony episodes. Because of this, bronies often take the “sharing is caring” motto to the next level by sharing episodes with one another.

Is it legal? No, not really, but many bronies have no other option thanks to DRM and regional blocking. Believe it or not, the fandom got its start because of how freely available episodes were on YouTube in the early days. In other words, we probably wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for pony piracy.

Brony episode sharing is common in all of the usual file-sharing circles but take care what websites you trek to. Torrents are infamous for their resiliency but the websites and groups that associate with them are not always safe for newcomers.

It’s often best to stick to brony-specific file distribution since there’s unlikely to be any viruses or greed involved. Bronies are so enthusiastic about ponies that you’re bound to find what you’re looking for simply by Googling “yay” and “ponies.” As long as there are bronies there will be people willing to share the magic of friendship in video form.

5. Brony stream parties

Many bronies tune into online stream parties for their Saturday morning pony fix. There are countless streams offered by a myriad of volunteer streamers.

Not all of these people stream every week, and we can’t guarantee that any streams are even still operational. Check ’em out shortly before a new episode is set to air to ensure they’re up and running.
